Hello, I’m Elizabeth!
Hi, I’m Elizabeth Crawford, a Junior Behaviour Consultant based in beautiful British Columbia and a proud member of the YBG team.
I recently relocated to Hope, BC, where I’ve embraced small-town living and the strong sense of community it offers. I’m grateful to be raising my family in such a supportive and welcoming environment, and to now be supporting families throughout Hope, Chilliwack, Agassiz, Harrison Hot Springs, and surrounding Fraser Valley communities.
Living in this area has allowed me to see firsthand the growing need for accessible behaviour consultation support, and I’m passionate about helping meet that need. I provide both virtual and in-person services and work collaboratively with families to develop support plans that align with their unique values, goals, and daily routines.
I am committed to ongoing academic and personal growth to ensure I provide high-quality, evidence-based support. I’m excited to continue this journey alongside the YBG team and look forward to supporting families as they build skills, confidence, and meaningful progress.
Why did I get started in this field?
My path into this field began while I was exploring potential areas of study and chose to volunteer in an elementary school. During this time, I worked closely alongside an Education Assistant and supported a neurodivergent student. Being able to observe the student’s growth and progress firsthand was both meaningful and motivating, and it sparked my interest in educational and behavioural support.
This experience led me to pursue formal training as an Education Assistant. While completing my education, I began working as a Behaviour Interventionist under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). It was during this time that I developed a strong interest in applied behaviour analysis and its ability to create positive, measurable change.
I went on to work as an ABA–SEA for four years
before transitioning out of the school district to pursue full-time work as a Junior Behaviour Consultant.
Supporting individuals as they build skills and gain independence, and seeing how evidence-based behaviour analysis can meaningfully improve quality of life, continues to be a driving force in my work.
My Education
Diploma in Special Education Teachers Assistant
I completed my education as a Special Education Teacher Assistant, where I developed a strong foundation in supporting students with diverse learning, behavioural, and emotional needs. My training emphasized inclusive education, understanding behaviour as communication, and the importance of creating safe, predictable, and supportive learning environments. This training directly informs my work as a Junior Behaviour Consultant, where I apply a strengths-based and relationship-focused approach when supporting individuals.
I completed the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) course sequence, which provided specialized training in applied behaviour analysis and evidence-based behaviour support. This coursework strengthened my understanding of how behaviour is learned and maintained, and how ethical, data-informed interventions can support meaningful skill development.
Through this course sequence, I developed practical skills in behaviour assessment, data collection and analysis, and the development of individualized behaviour support strategies. My training emphasized using data to guide decision-making, identifying environmental variables that influence behaviour, and implementing supports that are measurable, respectful, and socially meaningful.
This coursework directly informs my work as a Junior Behaviour Consultant, where I apply applied behaviour analysis principles to support individuals across settings. Completing the BCaBA course sequence enhanced my ability to observe behaviour objectively, collaborate effectively with supervisors and interdisciplinary teams, and contribute thoughtfully to behaviour plans that prioritize dignity, skill-building, and positive outcomes. I am continuing my journey towards full certification this upcoming year.

Undergraduate Degree Bachelors of Arts with a Major in Psychology
I am currently completing my undergraduate degree, with an expected completion within the next year. During my studies, I took a planned break to focus on professional specialization and family. During this time, I pursued advanced training in toileting support, gaining practical, hands-on experience that directly informs my current work supporting individuals with complex needs.
Alongside this professional focus, I also took time to grow my family. Returning to my degree with this experience has strengthened my perspective, time-management skills, and commitment to meaningful, person-centred practice. Balancing academic work, professional responsibilities, and parenting has deepened my understanding of collaboration, empathy, and the importance of realistic, sustainable supports.
I am now actively completing my remaining coursework and integrating my academic learning with my applied experience as a Junior Behaviour Consultant. This combination of formal education and real-world practice continues to shape my approach to behaviour support, emphasizing dignity, skill-building, and practical outcomes for individuals and families.
