Our next cohort begins September 2025!
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst or equivalent interested in establishing competency in sleep support for your clients.
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst or equivalent looking to distinguish yourself within the field and enhance your earning potential and qualifications.
A company looking to elevate your BCBA’s continued education and scope of practice.
This program is for you if you are…..

True competency comes from learning, applying, and being supported through mentorship.
Competency is crucial for professionals in this field to ensure they provide high-quality, evidence-based services to individuals who are struggling in the area specific to sleep.
You won’t just learn the theory, you’ll practice, apply, and refine your skills with real children and families. All of this will be covered within the course content, and to demonstrate competency, you’ll record your progress through homework assignments, reflections, and structured tracking procedures.
The group nature of this program also creates powerful opportunities for generalization and deeper conceptual understanding. Through dynamic discussions and interactive office hours, you’ll engage with peers, explore diverse case examples, and gain multiple perspectives that strengthen your ability to apply sleep support strategies across a wide range of clients and contexts.
And while self‑paced courses can provide information, they rarely translate into real‑world application. That’s why this program emphasizes LIVE, interactive learning, because true competency comes from practicing, receiving feedback, and refining your skills in real time. I’ve seen firsthand that asynchronous learning alone doesn’t lead to fluency or confidence in implementation, that’s why I designed the program in this way.
Across two or more of your supervised case studies, and with direct support, ongoing feedback, and collaborative mentorship, you will build fluency and generalization of the following competencies:
Conducting Comprehensive Sleep Assessments
Identify and analyze setting events, motivating operations, antecedents, and consequences maintaining sleep challenges.
Differentiate between behavioral, environmental, and medical contributors to sleep difficulties.
Prioritize ethical scope by recognizing when referrals to medical or allied professionals are necessary.
Document assessments in a way that families understand, creating reports that are informative, approachable, and action oriented.
Designing and Implementing Personalized Sleep Plans
Create and write clear, step by step strategies tailored to the child and family’s unique needs, culture, and daily routines.
Incorporate flexible, evidence based supports that promote long term generalization and sustainability.
Adjust plans collaboratively with families based on feedback and observed progress.
Develop plans that parents actually want to read and use, blending professional rigor with compassionate, accessible communication.
Collaborating Closely with Families
Conduct compassionate and structured intake/discovery calls to gather meaningful context.
Hold review meetings that empower caregivers as equal partners in the process.
Use accessible language, visuals, or social stories to support understanding and follow through.
Strengthen written and verbal communication to ensure families feel supported, understood, and equipped.
Implementing Behavior Skills Training (BST)
Provide families with modelling, rehearsal, and feedback to strengthen confidence and skill use.
Adapt coaching strategies to different learning styles and accessibility needs.
Reflect on and refine your delivery to maximize family engagement and success.
Translate behavioural strategies into parent friendly guides and follow ups that promote confidence and success.
Using Data to Drive Clinical Decisions
Build individualized data systems to capture baseline, intervention, and follow up progress.
Use data (or anecdotal evidence when formal collection isn’t feasible) to inform ongoing decision making.
Create simple, family friendly visuals that highlight progress and reinforce motivation.
Write clear, supportive data summaries that help parents see their child’s growth and feel hopeful about next steps.
Practicing with Cultural Humility and Ethical Integrity
Recognize and respect diverse family structures, parenting practices, and cultural perspectives on sleep.
Integrate neuro-affirming, inclusive approaches that honour the child’s and family’s needs.
Consistently apply BACB ethical guidelines, documenting reflections and decisions throughout the process.
Develop written communication that reflects cultural humility, ensuring language is respectful, inclusive, and empowering.
Building Generalization and Professional Fluency
Apply learned strategies across different client profiles and family contexts.
Strengthen fluency in sleep related case conceptualization and consultation.
Leave the program with the confidence and competence to independently lead sleep support in your practice or organization.
Enhance your professional writing so your reports, plans, and recommendations communicate competence and compassion to families, colleagues, and referral partners alike.
Defining Sleep Competency
BCBA Sleep Competency Certification Program
Your Behaviour Gal’s
I created this certification program because the need is undeniable. Families are struggling: clients aren’t sleeping, sessions are being missed, and progress stalls. Behavior analysts are burning out because they don’t have the tools to address one of the most fundamental barriers to learning and well‑being.
Research shows that 40 to 80% of autistic children and about 30% of the general population experience significant sleep challenges. Sleep is the foundation for all learning, regulation, and health. Yet, despite being the first line approach, most behavior analysts receive little to no training on sleep in their graduate programs. The research is there, the need is undeniable, and families are asking for help. So why are we not addressing it?
This program was designed to close that gap. It goes beyond theory, focusing on generalization, real‑world implementation, and a broader perspective on what sleep support truly means.
Through dynamic discussions, interactive office hours, and real case studies, you will gain the tools and strategies to support families and the confidence to put them into practice. Working one on one with me, you will receive personalized coaching, feedback, and guidance across 12 weeks in an intensive learning container.
Your learning does not end when the program finishes. Graduates have continued access to office hours, ongoing education, and alumni‑only opportunities, ensuring you stay supported and connected.
By the time you complete the program, you will not just know the strategies. You will be confident in applying them, with real‑world practice, feedback, and support behind you. You will emerge ready to call yourself a sleep specialist in the field of behavior analysis, providing compassionate, evidence based, and inclusive support to the clients and families who need it most.
