Meet Emily!

Meet Emily Newberry one of our Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts!

🔍 My Why: My pursuit of my BCaBA certification was fueled through watching my younger brother, who was diagnosed with ASD, struggle in day-to-day activities and tasks as we lived in an area with limited resources and professionals. He is one of my number 1 supporters of the work and schooling I have done pursuing this career and makes a point to tell everyone he meets what I do and how I help people like himself.

👩‍🎓 Professional Journey: With nearly 7 years of experience in the field of Behavior Analysis, my career has been a dynamic progression from a dedicated Behavior Interventionist (BI) to a Senior BI and, ultimately, a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst. I've had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients spanning from 2 to 28 years old. My expertise encompasses supporting my clients with a wide array of skills, including academics, functional living skills, and more. My experience extends to educational settings, where I've served as both a BCaBA and an Educational Assistant (EA).

🎯 Specialization: My passion lies in enhancing the autonomy and independence of individuals. I particularly enjoy targeting self-help and functional living skills, recognizing the profound impact these abilities have on day-to-day life for both my clients that the important people in their lives.

💬 I believe in the importance of Communication & Relationship Building: Effective communication is at the core of my practice. Building trust with both clients and their families is paramount. I believe in respecting boundaries, understanding client struggles, and offering practical solutions that work for the entire family. Open communication fosters rapport and paves the way for successful outcomes.

🌈 My Approach is Client-Centered: In my practice, I prioritize respecting client autonomy. Acknowledging that everyone has challenging days, I tailor my approach to each situation with calm understanding and respect. Collaborating with clients, I seek their input on programming, planning, and empowering them to self-advocate across their support journey, either that be at home, school or in the community.

🧗‍♀️ Beyond the Office: Outside of my professional endeavors, you'll find me scaling the heights of Squamish, indulging in my love for rock climbing. Just as in my professional life, I relish the challenge and the exhilaration that comes with conquering new heights.

I am so excited to be surrounded by the supportive and collaborative team at Your Behaviour Gal Consulting Inc, where we strive to empower individuals, one skill at a time!
