Four Bed Accessories To Level Up Your Sleep!

When it comes to decorating I am always seeking out help from my best friends who love interior design and have an eye for beauty. When giving them some guidelines of things I am looking for, I always go straight to the practical.

Before receiving my brand new 14" LUX Hybrid Pillowtop HAVEN King size I wanted to make sure I was taking good care of it but also wanted the mattress to look and feel inviting!

  1. Mattress Protectors. These are a Must-Have to maintain the longevity of the mattress and ensure that it is protected from spills and the yucky stuff that comes off of our bodies when we are sleeping. When looking for a mattress cover you want to make sure that it is waterproof, hypoallergenic, easy to put on, anti-microbial, allergen proof, dust-mite resistant, and a warranty to ensure quality! Lucky for you, Haven has already thought of that and if you do end up going with a Haven Mattress, then with a click of a button, it will come with your order!

  2. Soft, cooling and gorgeous sheets! As you can already tell, I am practical, so of course any accessory I purchase for my bed is going to be useful to support better sleep. In this case, sheets need to be soft but also keep us cool, especially since  my husband and I love to have the covers on even in the summer! When looking for the perfect sheet, I always suggest having the option to feel it before purchase, or read the reviews that support the standards of the product like “these sheets are so buttery smooth”, or “they keep me cool all night!”. Some of my favorites are bamboo sheets and duvet covers because they are so soft and I am quite sensitive to material and how it feels on my skin. My new sheets fit perfectly on the new mattress and I love sliding into bed each and every night!

  3. Cooling and Gorgeous Duvet! Again I have never been a comforter and under-sheet person. I like to have the freedom to poke my feet out at the end. However some people love to be tucked in like a cocoon. In any case, having a duvet allows for ease of changing the look with any cover  and never missing out on the amazing cooling technology. Duvets absorb and release any heat to keep you cool at night, which helps reduce night wakings and provides longer sleeps especially in those summer months.

  4. Pillows! A comfy pillow is so important and the pillow needs of every individual will be different. I prefer a memory foam pillow, while my husband likes having the really squishy soft ones. When deciding on a pillow make sure it fits your needs, depending on if you are a back sleeper, side sleeper or front sleeper. Back sleepers tend to require more of a medium firmness, similar to a memory foam. For side sleepers, (my husband), need more shapeable pillows as well as taller pillows to allow for your head to align with your spine. For stomach sleepers, although not ideal for back/spine support, they usually need softer pillows and one that isn’t too high. To keep your neck in alignment and avoid strain in the morning. Haven also provides access to so many different pillows. If you are ever unsure, ask their experts for advice!

The nice thing about all of the accessories I covered here is that they are practical but also transformable. When it comes to designing your bed you want it to support your sleep but also feel beautiful, safe and calming. If your bed is causing you any sort of stress, unhappiness, or discomfort it may be time to take a look at what you can adjust. Shaking things up with new pillow cases, duvet covers or even some cute throw pillows can help bring in the joyful and peaceful vibes that you should be feeling when walking into your bedroom.

xoxo, Nicole
