BCBA Sleep Competency Certificatinon Program

2.0

Sleep disturbance is one of the most common, and most supportable, challenges facing the families you already serve.

The Sleep Competency Certification Program 2.0 (SCCP 2.0) is a continuing education pathway offered by Nicole Shallow at Your Behaviour Gal Consulting Inc., an ACE Service Provider. It's built specifically for Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), BCaBAs, RBAs, IBAs, and QBAs, and related fields, giving you a clear, evidence-based route to becoming a Certified Sleep Specialist in Behavior Analysis, from building the research foundation to gaining the confidence to apply it in the room with real clients and families.

SCCP 2.0 is open to all Behavior Analysts practicing in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Union, Australia, and internationally. Rooted in the science of behavior analysis, this program is designed for practitioners with that foundational educational background, and grounded in the belief that effective sleep support should be compassionate, ethical, and responsive to each family's unique needs.

Choose the depth of support that fits where you are right now, or complete both levels for the most direct route to full sleep competency and the CSSS-BA credential.

“This sleep course significantly enhanced my knowledge and understanding of sleep and sleep related concerns.

As a result of the training, I feel much more confident in my ability to gather relevant information, case conceptualize sleep challenges, and develop individualized, meaningful sleep plans for families.

The opportunities to apply learning through the breakout rooms were especially valuable, as they allowed for discussion, reflection, and practical application of the concepts covered.

The case studies were highly relevant and helped bridge theory to real world practice. Additionally, the office hours and detailed feedback on assignments were extremely helpful in strengthening my clinical reasoning and ensuring effective implementation. Overall, this course has greatly supported my professional growth and capacity to provide individualized sleep support.

True competency comes from learning, applying, and being supported through mentorship.

Your Behaviour Gal’s

Why this Program Exists.

This certification program exists because the need is undeniable. Families are struggling: clients aren't sleeping, sessions are being missed, and progress stalls. Behavior analysts are burning out because they don't have the tools to address one of the most fundamental barriers to learning and well-being.

Sleep disturbance affects an estimated 33–80% of autistic children and roughly 30% of the general population. Sleep is the foundation for all learning, regulation, and health — yet despite being a first-line concern, most behavior analysts receive little to no training on sleep in their graduate programs.

SCCP 2.0 was built to close that gap, deliberately, in two stages. Level 1 gives you the research, the science, the templates, the structured foundation needed to expand your knowledge that is required to build upon true case conceptualization. This process has proved time and time again to be an effective approach for past SCCP participants. This time, I have created life-time access because life happens and sometimes coming back to the foundations are needed.

Level 2 goes beyond theory: real cases, live coaching, and hands-on practice, so knowledge turns into competence you can actually use in the room. We are LIVE together, helping you develop a new way of thinking and individualizing sleep support for the clients YOU have in the contexts they are living.

By the time you complete the program, you won't just know the strategies — you'll be confident applying and generalizing them across cases, a strong foundation in case conceptualization, backed by live modelling, practice, feedback, coaching and mentorship.

Upon completion of Level 2 competencies evaluated by the lead instructor, You'll earn the CSSS-BA credential and be ready to step into your role as the certified sleep specialist, providing compassionate, evidence-based, and inclusive support to the clients and families who need it most.

Nicole has an incredible wealth of knowledge in her area of specialty, and communicates it to her students in such an approachable and compassionate manner.

In addition to the skills we built in supporting sleep, Nicole has been such an excellent mentor and role model for other BCBA skills, such as compassionate communication and collaboration with families, ethical decision making, and telehealth best practices.

Overall, this course not only added sleep competency to my skillset as a BCBA, but it refined and reviewed my skills in those additional areas.

Learning with Nicole this fall was so fun and inspiring, and I didn't feel like I had gone "back to school" during the program at all. Nicole, thank you for doing what you do!

Office Hours

Office Hours: Real-Time Support

Across the 6 months of Level 2, intentionally set office hours give you space to bring your actual questions to Nicole and team, live for 6 months. Support isn't just about getting answers; it's about deepening your understanding and application skills through resources, questions, modelling, coaching, and feedback.

  • Clarification & understanding — ask questions, unpack confusing concepts, and get clarity on sleep support processes and program material in real time

  • Individualized feedback — personalized guidance on your cases and progress, plus resources tailored to where you're stuck

  • Applying it to real cases — bring your own client scenarios: designing a sleep intervention, interpreting sleep data, or working through a tricky case. This is where theory turns into the clinical judgment and strong case conceptualization skills you'll use every day as a sleep specialist.

I've gained a better understanding of sleep in general and how important it is to do a full comprehensive assessment. With the practice in writing sleep plans and listening to others as we worked together and shared our experiences, I've learned what questions to ask and how to dive deeper into certain areas (e.g., environmental factors, understanding daily routines and how this impacts sleep).

Assessment is ongoing and it's ok to try things and adjust as needed.
