Hi, I'm Hannah
REGISTERED SPEECH-LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST · BC
I'm a registered Speech-Language Pathologist supporting children and families across British Columbia. My approach is play-based, relationship-focused, and deeply rooted in connection — I believe in honouring each child's uniqueness and letting meaningful, child-led interactions be the foundation for everything we do together.
“I believe deeply in building trusting relationships, honouring each child’s uniqueness, and letting meaningful, child-led interactions be the foundation for everything we do together.”
Beyond the office
My path into this field began in some truly extraordinary places — from travelling gravel roads in Northern BC to working alongside Indigenous preschools in East Vancouver. When I'm not working, the spirit of that curiosity and love of community carries into everything I do. The connections I've built with families and communities across BC remind me every day why this work matters.
My Story
-
My path to speech-language pathology began nearly ten years ago when I was working as a behaviour interventionist. Through close collaboration with several SLPs, I quickly fell in love with the work and the profound difference that communication-focused support can make in a child's and family's life. I knew I had found my calling.
-
Early in my practice, I found myself unsettled by more traditional, rigid therapy approaches — they often led to moments of dysregulation and disconnection that didn't sit right with me. I knew something was missing, but I wasn't sure what the alternative looked like. Then I was introduced to DIRFloortime®, and everything clicked. Its focus on following a child's lead, honouring each person's unique way of being, and building relationships through shared joy and trust aligned completely with how I believe children and families grow best. Since then, my practice has been rooted in these relationship-based principles, and I continue to approach my work with a commitment to always knowing better and doing better for the families I support.
My Approach
-
My practice is rooted in DIRFloortime® — a relationship-based framework that isn't about "fixing" anyone. It's about understanding each child's strengths, building genuine connection, and supporting growth in ways that feel meaningful, respectful, and authentic. I also specialize in feeding support and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), and I love working with families to find the communication tools and strategies that truly fit their child.
-
I meet families through virtual consultation and collaboration support with home teams, as well as direct virtual sessions. I aim to be a true partner — not just to the child, but to the whole family. I bring evidence-based tools and frameworks while always keeping the family's values, priorities, and ways of knowing at the centre of our work together.
-
This work is not about fixing your child. It's about understanding them — their strengths, their unique way of being in the world — and building from there. I show up to every session with genuine curiosity, deep respect, and a commitment to doing better for every family I have the privilege of supporting.
